On Sunday 13 September, children across Western Australia will be participating in the Western Australian Karate Federation’s inaugural Kick4Cancer fundraising event to support the Children’s Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation (CLCRF). The event is an opportunity for families to combine fitness and fun to raise vital funds for the ongoing research into childhood cancer.
This event will be occurring simultaneously in two separate locations throughout Western Australia, including:
Perth – The Herb Graham Recreation Centre, Main Stadium, 38 Ashbury Crescent, Mirrabooka WA. Sessions will run at 10am, 11:30am, 1pm and 2:30pm. There will also be a sausage sizzle at this location.
Busselton – Church Hill Park Hall, Adelaide Street. Sessions for this location will run at 10am and 11:30am.
The event, created by the WA Karate Federation, is the first of its kind and will be proudly supported by the West Australian Police Pipe Band, dog squad and mounted police, who will open the event.
This exciting and innovative fundraising event is not limited to only registered members from AKF Karate clubs across WA, instead it encourages all young participants to come and be active, involved and aware of this worthy cause. Children all across WA aged 4 – 16 years can raise money for CLCRF by being sponsored to perform karate style kicks for a specified length of time or by the number of kicks achieved.
