Thank You to Lotterywest for Funding our Family Night Out

We are excited to extend our gratitude to Lotterywest for their invaluable support in making our upcoming Family Night Out Concert a reality. Dr Katrina Stratton MLA recently visited our office and presented us with a very generous cheque of $11,000, igniting the anticipation for an incredible evening of music and nostalgia.

Thanks to the funding provided by Lotterywest, we are ready to bring an evening of joy and entertainment to the local community, with the biggest 80s dance party the Peel Region has ever seen.

Get ready to embark on a nostalgic journey as we revisit the greatest hits from the biggest blockbusters of the 80s, performed by The VHS Pirates. This one-of-a-kind event promises to be a feast for the ears and eyes, combining classic 80s tunes with the ultimate flashbacks on screen.

The Family Night Out will be more than just a musical extravaganza; it represents the unity and resilience that define our community. It’s an opportunity for us to come together and celebrate. The concert also wraps up our Cycle for a Cure event, the bike ride going the distance for children with cancer.

We are so grateful for Lotterywest’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families within our community. Their generous contribution has not only provided the means to organise this event, but it has also inspired us to continue our mission of bringing people together to make a real difference.

If you are interested in going on a musical journey through the most iconic hits of the 80s, tickets for our Family Night Out are now on sale! This is set to be an evening for the whole family to enjoy, with fun family activities and food trucks also available.

A peachy sponsorship

The Foundation recently acquired sponsorship from Personnel Employed at Alcoa Charity Help (PEACH) for new laptops and monitors.

At the height of the pandemic, when having to work from home during lockdowns, our Foundation has struggled due to the lack of laptops available for the staff. With this sponsorship by PEACH, we are now able to purchase laptops for our team members to ensure we do not face this setback again.

Having new laptops will also give our team the ability to be mobile and work with our childhood cancer community in regional spaces. This will offer opportunities for our team to go out to schools and have access to our informational resources at the tip of their fingers.

We are particularly excited about what this funding means for events such as our beloved South West Bike Trek, which PEACH has been supporting for many years. With laptops on hand, our team can do more work from the event as the riders travel through the South West region.

We thank PEACH for their continued support of the Foundation. Founded in 1979, PEACH was inspired by a small group of enthusiastic Pinjarra refinery employees keen to help those in need in their local community. There are now nearly 1,000 people contributing each month, helping to fund so many worth causes.
