Let’s see if you have the heart to test yourself over four days of adventuring that will not only challenge you physically but also make a real difference in the lives of children battling cancer. Previously known as the South West Bike Trek – raising funds for childhood cancer research, we are proud to present our new updated bike trek, Cycle for a Cure.

This year’s home base is the stunning Fairbridge Village, located in the heart of WA. Get ready for an unforgettable ride through picturesque landscapes and some rugged terrain matched with awe-inspiring scenery. The new route will challenge you physically and mentally at times, but nothing compared to what our children deal with daily when they fight their cancers.

You’ll be joining a community of passionate and dedicated riders, all committed to raising funds for childhood cancer research. You will be making a meaningful impact on the lives of our children and help bring hope to those families facing the toughest battle of their lives. Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night Raises over $40,000 for Child Cancer Research

The Child Cancer Research Foundation’s annual Keep the Flame Alive Quiz Night exceeded all expectations on Saturday 22 July 2023, raising a remarkable $42,381.05 for childhood cancer research.

The event, made possible by the unwavering dedication of our incredible volunteers and generous supporters, brought together an enthusiastic crowd to Ascot Racecourse, all eager to make a difference in the lives of children battling a cancer diagnosis.

A heartfelt appreciation goes out to our volunteers who selflessly dedicated their time and efforts to make the Quiz Night a resounding success. Their hard work and passion behind the scenes truly made a difference in raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.

This year, our commitment to sustainability and environmental friendliness shone brightly. We made the conscious decision to avoid the use of plastic wrapping for our hampers and opted for a digital silent auction to minimise paper consumption.

Our online silent auction was an exciting new twist for our Quiz Night, offering our supporters the chance to bid on items before the event, whether they were attending on the night or not. Facilitating our online silent auction was the Helping Hand Group who also sourced some of the exciting auction items that were on offer, including a guitar signed by Ed Sheeran and a football boot signed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

We were once again in awe of the amount of incredible Australian businesses who kindly donated products for us to use as auction items and prizes on the night. We would not have been able to reach such an incredible result without their generosity. A big thank you to everyone who donated.

Finally, we thank every single person who came to the Quiz Night and generously contributed to our cause. The funds raised will provide hope to families facing childhood cancer and empower researchers to make ground-breaking discoveries for future generations.

As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, let us continue to keep the flame alive and support initiatives that aim to eradicate childhood cancer once and for all.

Perth Tradie Expo raises $5,784 for CCRF

It was great to be back at the Perth Tradie Expo over the weekend of 16 to 18 June. We were greeted to much dryer weather than previous years and raised an incredible total of $5,784.20 for childhood cancer research.

At the Perth Tradie Expo, attendees were able to purchase all types of work equipment from power tools to excavators at special Expo prices. There wasn’t just great savings on work gear, but also amazing specials on vehicles, camper-trailers, accessories, machinery and much, much more.

We were thrilled to be invited back to the Expo, collecting donations alongside the Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue. Our incredible fundraising result would not have been possible without our amazing volunteers who generously donated their time to collect the gold coin donations at the entry gate. A big thank you to Catherine, Angus, Jacky, Caroline, Tony, Tegan, Sophie, Andrea, and Calum!

We would also like to thank every single person who attended the Expo and decided to put their gold coin donation in our tins! We were touched to see so many people donating notes and making larger donations by card. Your contribution will go a long way to help future generations of children live cancer-free.

Finally, we thank Toolmart. This is always such an exciting weekend for our volunteers and staff, and we are so grateful for the great opportunity to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research.

Beat Child Cancer Giving Week Raises $155,737!

We are so excited to announce that our recent Beat Child Cancer Giving Week, held from 21 to 26 May, has been an outstanding success. Through the incredible generosity and support of our community, we have raised a remarkable total of $155,737! This achievement has surpassed our initial goal of $150,000 and we couldn’t be more grateful.

As our foundation receives very limited government funding, we rely heavily on the generosity of the community to help us support childhood cancer research and the families affected by the gruelling disease.

We are so appreciative to our matched-giving partners who played a vital role in making this feat possible. Their commitment and dedication to the cause is truly inspiring. For that, we thank Tate Family Foundation, Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, and John Hughan.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to each and every person who donated towards the Beat Child Cancer Giving Week campaign. Your contribution, whether big or small, has collectively contributed to this remarkable achievement. Every donation has brought us one step closer to finding a cure for childhood cancer and providing hope to countless families.

The success of our Giving Week is a true testament to the power of the community and the unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children battling cancer. We are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we have received and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Together, we can Beat Child Cancer.

Summer and Indie’s Skydive to Support Children with Cancer

Meet Summer and Indie, two brave girls who decided to take a leap of faith for childhood cancer research! The desire to help make a difference for children with cancer led them to embark on a nerve-wracking adventure – skydiving!

“We jumped because we can’t imagine the strength it takes for kids struggling with leukaemia,” said Summer and Indie. “We wanted to help make an impact on their lives by doing something out of our comfort zone while raising funds and awareness.”

The girls reached out to their families and friends to support their fundraising initiative, bringing them to an incredible total of $1,361! This will go a long way in helping more children live the long and fulfilling lives they deserve.

The girls’ described the jump as one of the most exhilarating feats they’ve experienced. “In all fairness, we were absolutely terrified, but we are glad we did it,” they shared.

Summer and Indie’s decision to take on this thrilling challenge has not only raised vital funds for childhood cancer research, but it has also increased awareness for the important cause.

We thank Summer and Indie for taking on this courageous feat in order to make a difference and contribute to our foundation. We are so grateful for their support which will hopefully inspire others to join the cause.
