Cancer patients and their carers have unique needs that arise from the time of diagnosis, prognosis and the sometimes lasting effects of treatment. People with cancer and those close to them have higher risk for anxiety, depression, fatigue and can become susceptible to post-traumatic stress disorder if their psychological first aid or support needs aren’t met quickly and appropriately.
The goal of the Support Line is to help you manage anxiety, distress or confusion, and point you in the direction of wellness. Qualified counsellors experienced in cancer care staff this service. The service has proven invaluable for reducing the burden of cancer on individuals and communities, particularly those in regional Western Australia. Cancer Support WA are available for all people, at all times, regardless of your circumstances.
